Having a Jon Pertwee moment

So this is distinctly not pleasant.

Time for an update on the dead cat from my last post…

Wednesday 02/05/2007

Off work due to much vomiting (not dead cat related), however the cat had been removed. Assumed the council had done as requested by Daz and removed it.

Saturday 05/05/2007

Alex spotted the cat in a large plant pot in the garden, partially covered with soil. Cat and plant pot relocated to bin to stop flies and local wildlife getting more involved. Much wondering ensued as to which muppet had buried the cat in the plant pot and which animal had tried to dig it out.

Sunday 06/05/2007

Had to put rubbish in bin. Quite a whiff, but to be expected.

Wednesday 07/05/2007

Bin due to be collected tomorrow, so took out rubbish and opened the lid of the bin.

The scene was reminiscent of this:

The Green Death

except with smaller but more plentiful maggots. Resisted temptation to squeal like a gay, but did grab plastic bag to handle bin whilst putting it out on the street.

Lessons learned for if a dead cat is in your garden/yard:

  1. Get rid of it very quickly
  2. Do not put it in your bin
  3. Buy some biocides
