Some people have talked about image pollution.

The concept that we are constantly bombarded by worthless images, all competing to gain a foot-hold in our brain-spaces, which leads to the devaluing of images which are culturally important or significant.

We see Van Gogh's Sunflowers and barely raise an eyebrow.
The response to Turner's Seascapes is ennui.

"It's shocking and must be stopped!" is the cry.
"Pish and tish!" I cry, then upload more worthless images to the world wide web :o)
